Beverley Downings PGCert, Reg. MBACP (Accred).

I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist with over 17 years experience. I have accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (in order for therapists to become accredited/registered we have to undertake extensive training courses and clinical hours with clients and accreditation status recognises the achievement of high standards of knowledge and experience).

While the single most important and best indicator of whether or not a therapist will be effective in working with you is the strength and quality of relationship between you both, it’s also good to know you’re working with a therapist who knows what they’re doing and who has some solid training, so I like to share the below information with you so that you know you are in safe hands!

I have worked with a diverse range of people, exploring a large variety of issues for both long and short-term durations. I have experience of working with many clients who have concerns and difficulties with anxiety, stress, relationships, assertiveness, grief & loss, confidence, goal-setting, work related stress, emotional distress, and much more. I also work with people who want to understand themselves on a deeper level, or who use therapy as an ongoing way to maintain their happiness and well-being. It is not always easy to face difficulties and find ways to resolve them, but I have seen people again and again find ways to understand themselves in a deeper way and bring about the changes that lead to more positive and fulfilled ways of living.

I feel lucky to get to work in a profession that feels meaningful and fulfilling and to give people hope that change can happen with the right support.

I engage in regular Clinical Supervision. I am a listed Registered Accredited Member of the BACP. I have Professional Indemnity Insurance, an Enhanced DBS and I am registered with ICO's Data Protection Scheme.

I am passionate about learning, I engage in regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) and I read articles and books, listen to podcasts, participate in forums to gain inspiration, new perspectives and insight into different approaches.
